Jason found a job in the mortgage industry after graduating Cal Poly in 2003 with a degree in City and Regional Planning, and has since remained in love with the business and the Central Coast. Jason developed a knack for lending operations and rose quickly to senior ranks. He started in the mortgage business as a Junior Underwriter and quickly worked his way up to serving two local mortgage banks as Operation Manager. Soon after, he began working for a much larger multi-state wholesale mortgage bank as Regional Manager.

Jason saw the unsustainable (and often insincere) business practices in the mortgage industry, which influenced him to get his brokers license. He teamed with Daniel Podesto to build a company with ethical and efficient sales practices. The result is Central Coast Lending. Jason believes that a person naïve of the mortgage industries nuances is a person needing guidance and education, not simply an opportunity to make extra profit. Befitting of the Central Coast lifestyle, Jason’s short term goals are simple: serve the community with integrity and promote the kind of practice where relationships are fostered.

You might find Jason coaching a little league team, a youth soccer team, or raising money to send kids with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp. He’s an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, past President at Business Networking International, and participates in fundraisers for various local Non-Profits.

Jason describes himself as a committed and driven person. He has been married for thirteen years, he is a father of three, he is passionate about his work, and he trusts constantly in the good nature of people.

dan@centralcoastlending.com

Dan Podesto began his work in financing with a trial by fire. Directly after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Cal Poly in 2001, he was hired into the mortgage industry by Cameron Financial Group. After working his way to Secondary Marketing Manager, he moved on to Kay-Co Investments in June of 2006, where he managed the Loan Settlement Department, the Servicing Department, and all loan sales to investors.

When the housing bubble burst, Dan teamed with co-owner Jason Grote to create Central Coast Lending. Having seen the problems with the mortgage industry, their model sought to clean up the business with a client-friendly approach. Today, Central Coast Lending prides itself on offering fair prices, efficient service, and knowledge-based advice to the client, and skilled efficiency in collaboration with other finance professionals. With offices in San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Paso Robles and Arroyo Grande, Central Coast Lending wants to strengthen its roots in our unique central coast community to offer the best possible service.

After seeing the dark side of finance, Dan and Jason created something new. According to Dan, “We developed this philosophy that ‘this is wrong.’ There were brokers that clearly did not understand the loan programs they were selling, or they were making windfall profits off of buyers that clearly didn’t know any better. So we decided, what if we explained every loan option, offered sound advice, and charged fair prices? Our philosophy is to know what we are selling, sell at a fair price, and do what we say we are going to do. We want to do the right thing for people, and we think that if you do the right thing for somebody, we will catch on. It’s kind of like the Field of Dreams… if we do it the right way, they will come.”

Will Barnaby began his own business at 21 as a wholesale seller. After opening offices across the western United States, he moved to advertising before settling into the financial industry. Growing up in a military family, Will has constantly moved around the world – from England, to Germany to Virginia, but he has settled down in the beautiful Central Coast in 1997 and has since dedicated himself to becoming the best loan agent for the local community.

Will jumped on board Central Coast Lending from the beginning. Initially attracted to the underwriting and secondary marketing experience of the owners, Will appreciated Central Coast Lending’s community oriented approach. With his family settled down in Paso Robles, Will has satisfied customers both locally and across the state of California.

Thus far, Will credits his success to communication, fair prices, and equitable treatment. He makes sure that he treats everybody fair, charges a fair price, and keeps his clients in the loop. With the shift in government regulations and the shifting housing market, Will is your resource to navigate home finance.

After doing the “surf thing” Will is now focusing on improving his racquetball game. He has a wife and two kids of 14 and 7, and coaches youth soccer.
